Today at the offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the High Representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government was received by the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs. Hon. Manlio Di Stefano.
The current issues in the Kurdistan Region, the relationship with the central government in Baghdad and the developments of the parliamentary elections held in the Region last September 2018, were the focus of the meeting. Mrs. Kader thanked Italy for its support during the war against Da'esh and in assisting the almost 2 millions of displaced people who found refuge in the Kurdistan Region.
Hon. Di Stefano, underlined the commitment of the Peshmerga and Kurdish women and assured Italy's maximum attention to the Kurdish question, as demonstrated by the visit of the Minister of Defense Elisabetta Trenta first, and that of the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte recently.
The meeting ended with the invitation of Mrs Kader to the Hon. Di Stefano to visit the Kurdistan Region.
