POWER OF ATTORNEY GENERAL POWER OF ATTORNEY A general power of attorney is a legal document in which someone (the donor) gives another person (the attorney) the right to act on their behalf. The agent under such agreement may be authorized to handle bank accounts, sign checks, sell property, manage assets, and file taxes for the principal. To produce a General Power of Attorney, you have to provide the following documents: • Donor: Kurdish ID card (national card); citizenship certificate; italian ID card; residency permit; tax code; 2 recent passport size • The attorney: Kurdish ID documents (national card/citizenship); 2 recent passport size. In case the Attorney is a lawyer it would be necessary Kurdish Bar Association badge. SPECIAL POWER OF ATTORNEY A special power of attorney is a legal document that authorizes one person (the attorney) to act on behalf of another person (the donor) under specific, clearly laid-out circumstances. such as; • Pensions and Social Security; • Civil registry authority; • Marriage/Divorce; • Buying or selling property (land/house/business) • Buying or selling a vehicle To produce a General Power of Attorney, you have to provide the following documents: • Donor: Kurdish ID card (national card); citizenship certificate; Italian ID card; residency permit; tax code; 2 recent passport size • The attorney: Kurdish ID documents (national card/citizenship); 2 recent passport size. In case the Attorney is a lawyer it would be necessary Kurdish Bar Association badge. REVOCATION OF POWER OF ATTORNEY In order to revoke a Power of Attorney, you have to provide the following documents: • a copy of the original power of attorney that you wish to revoke; • ID documents (Kurdish ID card/national card; citizenship certificate; Italian ID card; residency permit; tax code) NB: to request the revocation of a power of attorney, it is necessary the presence at the Offices of the Representation in Italy of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
