Representation in Italy
This morning, Dr. Rezan Kader, High Representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government to Italy and the Holy See, spoke on the radio program "Radio Anch'io," broadcast live on Radio1 Rai.
The war on ISIS, the situation in Syria, and the Italian mission in Mosul were the topics of the discussion.
Also in the studio was Gastone Breccia, historian and author of the book "War on ISIS. Diary from the Kurdish Front," in which he recounts his journey from Erbil to Iraqi and Syrian Kurdistan.
Dr. Kader emphasized how the situation has improved compared to a few months ago, also following the liberation of the city of Shingal. At the same time, the High Representative emphasized, 2,000 Yazidi Kurdish girls are still held captive by Daesh terrorists. She once again thanked the Holy See for its significant support through its envoy to Kurdistan, Cardinal Fernando Filoni.
“Kurdistan is a united territory, a state that already exists, but is not legitimately recognized,” continued Dr. Kader, highlighting how “the Kurdistan Regional Government has demonstrated its ability to govern autonomously, thanks to its allies through dialogue and collaboration.”
